Integrity Laser has not only the laser marking equipment required to engrave anodized aluminum, TESA and 3M material stock, we also has the most state-of-the-art MicroScan UID code validation
UID a Unique Identification code marked onto discrete components or unit assemblies, permitting those items to be tracked "cradle to grave," to help the Department of Defense (DoD) ensure accurate asset management–traceability, accountability, lifecycle history and financial integrity. The UID may be printed onto a label, that will ultimately be adhered to a component, or the UID may be printed onto a tag or in a number of cases, directly marked onto the part in question. This Direct Part Marking (DPM) is most often accomplished using laser engraving and marking systems; either of a flatbed (flying optic) or galvanometer-steered laser marking configuration. Basically, DoD Instruction 5000.64 mandates that certain items are marked with an unique identifier (UID):
One of critical things to remember, concerning UID, is that UID encompasses much more than the labeling or marking of a component part or assembly. UID encompasses the actual marking of the device, as well as the verification & validation of the code, and the filing of appropriate reports, leading ultimately to the registering of the UID into the national registry.
